An Act To Allow Municipalities To Send Separate Tax Bills for Municipal and County and School Taxes
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 36 MRSA §507-A is enacted to read:
§ 507-A. Separate bills
1. Separate bills. A municipality may issue separate bills for the portions of its tax commitment attributable to:
A. Education funding; and
B. County taxes and all other municipal costs.
2. Information required. Each separate bill issued under subsection 1 must contain the information required under section 507.
