An Act To Allow Laser Spine Surgery in the State

Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §2600-D  is enacted to read:

§ 2600-D.  Laser spine surgery

A physician licensed under this chapter may use a laser during spine surgery as long as the physician documents the clinical diagnosis and treatment in the patient's medical record and the clinical diagnosis is based on knowledge obtained through medical history and physical examination.

Sec. 2. 32 MRSA §3300-G  is enacted to read:

§ 3300-G.  Laser spine surgery

A physician licensed under this chapter may use a laser during spine surgery as long as the physician documents the clinical diagnosis and treatment in the patient's medical record and the clinical diagnosis is based on knowledge obtained through medical history and physical examination.
