An Act To Promote Workforce Development and Community Integration
Sec. 1. Immigrant workforce development council. The Department of Labor shall establish an immigrant workforce development council composed of relevant stakeholders. The department, after consultation with the council, shall provide funds to entities that promote integration of immigrants into the workforce and community through English language acquisition programs, job training and educational programs, housing and transportation assistance and assistance in acquiring appropriate credentials. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the Department of Labor in consultation with the council shall develop a competitive process in which funds provided to the Department of Labor in section 2 are to be distributed to qualified entities.
Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.
