An Act To Provide Additional Food Supplement Assistance for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §3104, sub-§17 is enacted to read:
17. Elderly or disabled recipient minimum benefit. If a household includes an elderly or disabled member and receives a federally funded benefit in an amount less than $30 per month under the statewide food supplement program administered pursuant to this section, the State shall provide a supplement to increase the total benefit to $30 per month. For the purposes of this subsection, "elderly or disabled member" has the same meaning as in the federal Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, 7 United States Code, Section 2012(j).
