Amend the amendment by striking out all of the 9th indented paragraph (page 1, line 34 in amendment) and inserting the following:

Amend the bill by striking out all of sections 23 to 27 and inserting the following:

‘Sec. 23. 21-A MRSA §682, sub-§3-A is enacted to read:

3-A. Soliciting prohibited. A person may not solicit or accept contributions for a campaign as defined in section 1052, subsection 1 or for the purpose of qualifying a Maine Clean Election Act candidate pursuant to section 1125 within the voting place.

Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

SUMMARY

This amendment prohibits within the voting place the solicitation or acceptance of campaign contributions or Maine Clean Election Act candidate qualifying contributions.
