|
The bill requires
the Department of Marine Resources to allow a person with a student lobster
and crab fishing license who is less than 18 years of age to demonstrate
apprentice program completion through verified landings of at least 4,000
pounds of lobster caught over the course of 100 days at sea to be completed
over 2 separate seasons. This will require access to the currently
confidential landings information for approximately 1095 licensees. The bill
includes General Fund appropriations to the Department of Marine Resources,
Bureau of Marine Science, of $38,719 in fiscal year 2019-20 and $52,120 in
fiscal year 2020-21 for one Marine Resources Scientist I position and
associated All Other costs. |
