The provisions in
this bill that 1) change the standard of proof required to demonstrate
entitlement to compensation for a mental injury caused by stress to the same
standard required for physical injuries; and 2) specify that a work-related
injury that aggravates a preexisting mental condition may result in a
compensable disability may result in increased costs to the State as a direct
reimbursement employer and to local units of government. The impact on rates will depend on actual
experience. |
