The general
operating expenses of this study are projected to be $1,500 in fiscal year
2019-20. An estimated $6,190 is available in each of fiscal years 2019-20 and
2020-21 in the Legislature's proposed budget for legislative studies as well
as any balances from prior years for this purpose. Whether these amounts are
sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies
authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature. |

The Department of Education has indicated
it will require funding to reimburse certain task force members for mileage
and to prepare the final report. The bill includes a one-time General Fund
appropriation of $3,112 in fiscal year 2019-20 to the Leadership Team program
within the Department of Education. |
|
This bill also
includes a one-time Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of $500 in fiscal
year 2019-20 to a newly created Task Force to Enhance Continuing Education
Programs for Young Adults with Disabilities program within the department to
allow expenditure of any outside funding that might be received to support
the task force. |
|
Any additional
costs to the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of
Labor, the University of Maine System and the Maine Community College System
to serve on the task force are expected to be minor and can be absorbed
within existing budgeted resources. |
