This bill
requires the Governor's Energy Office (GEO) to direct a study on the
environmental and economic feasibility of setting a requirement for the
percentage of biofuel to be used in various heating fuels. The GEO has indicated that it does not have
the current capacity to complete this study within existing budgeted
resources and the required timeframe.
The bill includes a one-time appropriation to the GEO of $100,000 in fiscal
year 2019-20 for contracted services to complete the study. Additional costs to various other state
agencies to consult with the GEO can be absorbed within existing budgeted
resources. |
