Under current law,
the Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices conducts random
post-election audits of 20% of the candidates who received Maine Clean
Election Act funding. This bill includes General Fund appropriations of
$52,000 beginning in fiscal year 2020-21 and continuing in every other fiscal
year to expand the random post-election audits to include 20% of candidates
who did not receive Maine Clean Election Act funding. |
