Fiscal Detail and Notes
This bill will increase the filing fee paid to the Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) when filing a petition of approval with the Public Utilities Commission to erect, rebuild or relocate a transmission line from 1/100 of 1% of the estimated cost of the project to 2/100 of 1% of the cost. The bill will also allow the OPA to bill the applicant if its expenses exceed the initial filing fee paid. The OPA must return any portion of the filing fee revenue that exceeds expenses related to that filing.  The bill will provide additional revenue to the OPA to accommodate a higher level of expenditures.
