This bill directs
the Board of Pesticides Control (BPC), within the Department of Agriculture,
Conservation and Forestry, to establish an environmental risk advisory
committee to assess the environmental risks associated with the use of
neonicotinoids and complete a final report of their findings by February 1,
2022. The BPC has indicated that it
will require additional staffing to complete these tasks. The bill includes additional allocations of
$103,540 to the BPC to allow expenditure of existing resources for one
toxicologist, contracted staffing, environmental sampling and literature
review. The impact of these new
unfunded costs on other programs in the BPC cannot be determined at this
time. |
