|
This bill
includes General Fund appropriations to the Department of Health and Human
Services of $7,000,000 in fiscal year 2022-23 to establish or expand certain
services for children or juveniles. |
|
The bill also
includes ongoing General Fund appropriations of $4,000,000 per year beginning
in fiscal year 2022-23 to the School and Student Supports program within the
Department of Education to establish or expand school-based restorative
justice programs, mentoring services, workforce development and educational
and vocational programs for juveniles involved in the juvenile legal system. |

The bill provides
a one-time General Fund appropriation of $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2022-23 to
the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future to establish a
pilot program to distribute funding to small community-based organizations
and similar entities to establish or support community-based services for
juveniles, which may include, but are not limited to, diversion programs,
academic and vocational education services, mentoring services and behavioral
and mental health services. |

The bill includes
a General Fund appropriation of $445,577 in fiscal year 2022-23 to the
Department of Corrections for an organization to create, conduct and validate
a juvenile needs assessment and for one Secretary Specialist position, one
Data and Research Coordinator position and related costs to administer,
process and review the needs assessments. |
