This bill includes a one-time allocation to the
Multimodal - Passenger Rail (MPR) account in the Department of Transportation
in fiscal year 2021-22 for an economic evaluation study for commuter and
passenger train service between Portland and the Lewiston and Auburn
area. Ten percent of the cost of the
study must be provided by municipalities that would be directly impacted by
the train service with the remaining cost provided by the MPR account. |

The bill
specifies that 10% of the cost of the study must be provided by
municipalities that would be impacted by the expansion of passenger rail. |
