Fiscal Detail and Notes
The bill includes General Fund appropriations to the newly created Department of Child and Family Services of $1,740,714 in fiscal year 2022-23 to establish 11 positions to staff the newly created Department of Child and Family Services Commissioner's office. Additionally, all positions, Personal Services and All Other funding from the current Office of Child and Family Services, within the Department of Health and Human Services, are transferred to the new department.
Any additional costs to the Department of Administrative and Financial Services to work with the newly created Department of Child and Family Services are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
