Requiring health
insurance plans to provide coverage for fertility diagnostic care, fertility
treatment and fertility preservation services will increase General Fund
costs to the State Employee Health Plan beginning in the plan year that
starts July 1, 2024 by an estimated $183,559 in fiscal year 2024-25. The bill
will also increase Highway Fund costs by an estimated $64,620 beginning in
fiscal year 2024-25. These estimates are based on the assumption that this
required coverage will increase costs to the plan by $1.41 per member per
month. Additional costs to the Bureau of Insurance in the Department of
Professional and Financial Regulations are assumed to be minor and can be
absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
