This bill
includes a one-time General Fund appropriation of $125,000 in fiscal year
2022-23 to the Workforce Research program within the Department of Labor for
the cost associated with hiring an outside contractor to research and
evaluate recruitment and retention programs and incentives for public safety
workers and prepare the required report. |

Additional costs
to the Department of Public Safety, the Finance Authority of Maine and the
Maine Fire Protection Services Commission associated with consulting on the
examination can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
