This amendment
strikes the provisions in the committee amendment that established the Maine
Public Safety Workers Loan Repayment Program within the Finance Authority of
Maine and eliminates the one-time General Fund appropriation of $2,000,000 in
fiscal year 2022-23 to provide student loan repayment of up to $3,000 per
year for a maximum of 3 years to eligible public safety workers in the
State. |
|
As amended, the
bill provides General Fund appropriations of $450,000 beginning in fiscal
year 2022-23 to the Department of Public Safety to distribute to Penobscot
County for 3 Deputy Sheriff positions. |
