The Department of
Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry has indicated that the changes in this
bill will cause 50% of Maine growers of hemp to leave the state program and
license directly with the United States Department of Agriculture, reducing
licensing revenue by $35,125 annually. The department will require a
deallocation of that amount beginning in fiscal year 2022-23. |
