Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of Professional and Financial Regulation will require ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations totaling $89,498 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $117,432 in fiscal year 2024-25 to support the additional costs to the Board of Examiners in Physical Therapy associated with joining the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact beginning in fiscal year 2023-24.  Of that amount, ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $86,213 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $113,107 in fiscal year 2024-25 will be required for the Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation within the department for one Comprehensive Health Planner II position and related All Other costs to support the anticipated increase in workload associated with joining the compact.  Additionally, ongoing Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $3,285 in fiscal year 2023-24 and $4,325 in fiscal year 2024-25 are provided to the Administrative Services - Professional and Financial Regulation program for the technology and other administrative costs associated with adding the position.
The department has indicated that the revenue generated from current licensing and other fees will not be sufficient to support the additional costs associated with this bill and licensing fees will need to be increased.  The amount and timing of the fee increase cannot be determined at this time.
