Fiscal Detail and Notes
	This amendment removes the requirement that the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry create an exploratory committee to prioritize meat and poultry processing workforce training strategies and eliminates the one-time General Fund appropriation of $20,000 to the department in fiscal year 2023-24 for contracted services.
	The amendment also removes the requirement that the University of Maine System (UMS) conduct a study to assess the feasibility of processing and marketing meat and poultry products in the State and eliminates the one-time General Fund appropriations of $220,000 per year in fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25 to support the cost of the study.
	The amendment also specifies that the UMS shall provide cooperative extension education regarding meat and poultry processing within available funding. The amendment eliminates the ongoing General Fund appropriations of $142,500 per year beginning in fiscal year 2023-24 for the UMS to provide cooperative extension education and, instead, provides a one-time General Fund appropriation of $142,500 in fiscal year 2024-25 for that same purpose.
