§1595. Retirement benefits to spouses extended

A surviving spouse must be paid 1/2 of the amount that any member of the State Police, including the Chief of the State Police, is receiving either as a pension or a disability retirement allowance under this chapter, and those payments must continue for the remainder of the spouse's lifetime or until the spouse remarries. Payments to the member cease as of the day of the member's death and begin to the member's surviving spouse on the following day.   [RR 2023, c. 1, §46 (COR).]
