An Act to Increase the Availability of Prescription Drugs for the State's Elderly
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. Rulemaking. The Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of Revenue Services shall adopt rules for the elderly low-cost drug program to allow consideration of an applicant's change in income from the previous year when the applicant has documentation of a substantial change in circumstances that alters the applicant's income by more than 10%. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II-A.
Sec. 2. Retroactivity. This Act applies retroactively to persons applying for participation in the elderly low-cost drug program on or after August 1, 1999.
Effective September 18, 1999, unless otherwise indicated.
