Joint Resolution
Joint Resolution in Memoriam:
WHEREAS, the Legislature has learned with deep regret of the death of:
(1-1) Marlene J. Libby, of Appleton. Mrs. Libby's early employment included working in the offices of Rockland Leathers and the Rockland Wastewater Department. She embarked on a 35-year career at the Camden Town Office. In 1989, she was hired as the Wastewater/Harbor Clerk for the Town of Camden. She later was appointed to serve as the Town Treasurer/Accountant, Interim Finance Director and Deputy Finance Director, the position which she held until December 2024. The Town of Appleton Select Board dedicated the 2022 Annual Report to Mrs. Libby in honor of her commitment to the town, the town office and her fellow residents. She volunteered her time to the town and assisted with many different endeavors such as organizing and conducting staff training sessions, serving in the office and serving on the Select Board. Mrs. Libby will be long remembered and sadly missed by her family, friends and community;

(4-6) Nancy L. Moran, of Bath. Ms. Moran was a lawyer who worked for many years at the Small Business Administration traveling around the country to assist people with their Small Business Association loans. She was also a talented artist whose artistic career took her to Panama, where she worked with a team from the Smithsonian Institution to classify bats in the rainforest. In addition, her small mammal illustrations are a permanent part of the Smithsonian collection. Ms. Moran will be long remembered and sadly missed by her family, friends and community;
