Sec. 1. 3 MRSA §522-A, as enacted by PL 1989, c. 439, §§1 and 8, is amended to read:

§522-A. Inland Fish and Wildlife Budget Review

The joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over inland fisheries fish and wildlife shall review the budget of the Department of Inland Fisheries Fish and Wildlife and submit its recommendations in a written report to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over appropriations and financial affairs no later than 60 days after reference of the current services budget legislation and any supplemental budget legislation to the joint standing committee having jurisdiction over appropriations and financial affairs of the Legislature.

Sec. 2. Maine Revised Statutes amended; revision clause. Wherever in the Maine Revised Statutes the words "Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife," "Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife" or "inland fisheries and wildlife" appear or reference is made to those words, they are amended to read and mean "Department of Inland Fish and Wildlife," "Commissioner of Inland Fish and Wildlife" and "inland fish and wildlife," respectively, and the Revisor of Statutes shall implement this revision when updating, publishing or republishing the statutes.

SUMMARY

This bill changes the name of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to the Department of Inland Fish and Wildlife.
