Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §7504 is enacted to read:

§7504.__Ordinance powers authorized

The county commissioners of each county may adopt ordinances only for the purposes of animal control and regulation of noise to protect the health, safety and general welfare of residents of the unorganized territory in their county.__When enacting ordinances under this section, the county commissioners shall give 7 days' notice of the meeting at which the ordinances are to be proposed in the manner provided for town meetings.__Unless otherwise provided, these ordinances take effect immediately.

SUMMARY

This bill authorizes county commissioners of each county to adopt animal control and noise ordinances within unorganized territory in their county.
