C. Class III crab and lobster licenses, $75;, except that for calendar years 2000 and 2001 the surcharge is as follows:

(1)__If the holder purchases from 1,000 to 1,200 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $75;

(2)__If the holder purchases from 800 to 999 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $62.50;

(3)__If the holder purchases from 600 to 799 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $50;

(4)__If the holder purchases from 400 to 599 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $37.50;

(5)__If the holder purchases from 200 to 399 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $25; and

(6)__If the holder purchases under 200 trap tags for that calendar year pursuant to section 6431-B, $12.50;

SUMMARY

This bill establishes a sliding scale for the surcharge assessed on lobster and crab fishing licenses for deposit in the Lobster Promotion Fund. The amount of the surcharge is based on the number of lobster trap tags purchased by the license holder.
