Sec. 2. Task force membership. Resolved: That the task force consists of 12 members appointed as follows:

A. The Director of the State Planning Office or the director's designee;

B. The Director of the Land for Maine's Future Program;

C. The Commissioner of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources or the commissioner's designee;

D. The Commissioner of Economic and Community Development or the commissioner's designee;

E. One representative each from the northern, eastern and western Maine regional development districts, appointed by the Governor;

F. One representative from the Finance Authority of Maine; and

G. Two members of the Senate, appointed by the President of the Senate, and 2 members of the House of Representatives, appointed by the Speaker of the House; and be it further

Sec. 3. Chairs. Resolved: That the first-named Senate member is the Senate chair and the first-named House member is the House chair; and be it further

Sec. 4. Appointments; convening task force. Resolved: That all appointments must be made by July 16, 1999. The Commissioner of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources shall call and convene the first meeting of the task force no later than July 31, 1999; and be it further

Sec. 5. Duties. Resolved: That the task force shall hold public meetings, gather information, create working groups and request necessary data from public and private entities in order to accomplish the following duties:

A. Establish a process to identify those areas of the State where there is substantial existing small-scale agricultural activity, an evolving network of support services and developed or developing regional markets;
