Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:

 
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §7076, sub-§3, as amended by PL 1997, c. 432, §11, is
further amended to read:

 
3. Residents with certain disabilities

 
A. The commissioner may issue, upon application,
complimentary resident hunting and fishing licenses to a
resident of Maine who is suffering from the loss of, or the
permanent loss of the use of, both lower extremities or one
arm. Any license issued under this paragraph remains valid
for the life of the license holder, if the license holder
continues to satisfy the residency requirements in section
7001, subsection 32 and the license is not revoked or
suspended.

 
B. The commissioner may issue, upon application,
complimentary nonresident hunting and fishing licenses to a
person from another state who is similarly suffering,
provided that the state where the person resides provides a
reciprocal privilege for residents of this State.

 
SUMMARY

 
This bill allows the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and
Wildlife to issue complimentary hunting and fishing licenses to a
Maine resident who suffers from the loss of the use of one arm.
