D. One member representing the Maine Health Care Association,
to be appointed by the President of the Senate;

 
E. One member representing the Maine Hospital Association,
to be appointed by the President of the Senate;

 
F. One member representing the State Board of Nursing, to
be appointed by the Speaker of the House;

 
G. One member representing the Department of Education, to
be appointed by the Speaker of the House; and

 
H. One member representing the Department of Mental Health,
Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, to be
appointed by the Speaker of the House.

 
3. Commission meetings. The commission is authorized to
conduct up to 5 meetings, the first of which must be called by
the chair no later than November 1, 1999.

 
4. Report to Legislature. The commission shall report its
findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of
the Legislature having jurisdiction over health and human
services matters on or before January 15, 2001.

 
Sec. 14. Appropriation. The following funds are appropriated from
the General Fund to carry out the purposes of this Act.

Bureau of Elder and Adult Services

 
All Other$500,000

 
To provide funds for additional
respite and homemaker services
to individuals awaiting
placement for these services.

 
Long Term Care - Human Services

To provide funds for additional
home-based care
