Sec. 1. Committee established. Resolved: That the Committee to Establish
a Memorial Dedicated to the Civilian Conservation Corps, referred
to in this resolve as the "committee," is established; and be it
further

 
Sec. 2. Membership. Resolved: That the committee consists of the
following 9 members:

 
1. Three former members of the Civilian Conservation Corps
appointed by the Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni of Maine;

 
2. Two members of the House of Representatives appointed by
the Speaker of the House;

 
3. One member of the Senate appointed by the President of the
Senate;

 
4. Two public members, one appointed by the President of the
Senate and one appointed by the Speaker of the House; and

 
5. The Commissioner of Conservation or the commissioner's
designee; and be it further

 
Sec. 3. Appointments; meetings. Resolved: That all appointments must be
made no later than 30 days following the effective date of this
resolve. The Executive Director of the Legislative Council must
be notified by all appointing authorities once the selections
have been made. The President of the Senate and the Speaker of
the House of Representatives shall jointly appoint the chair of
the committee; and be it further

 
Sec. 4. Duties. Resolved: That the committee shall study issues
involved in the establishment of a memorial dedicated to the
Civilian Conservation Corps including:

 
1. Where the memorial should be located;

 
2. What should be inscribed on the memorial; and

 
3. A funding mechanism for building the memorial, including,
but not limited to, a public and private partnership; and be it
further

 
Sec. 5. Staff assistance. Resolved: That the Department of Conservation
shall provide staffing assistance to the committee; and be it
further

 
Sec. 6. Reimbursement. Resolved: That all members of the committee
who are not state employees are entitled to reimbursement for
expenses as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5,
section 12002 and members who are Legislators
