17.__Meat food products.__"Meat food products" means products fit for human food that are made wholly or in part from the meat or other portions of the carcass of an animal, excepting products that contain meat or other portions of the carcass only in a relatively small proportion or that historically are not considered by consumers as products of the meat food industry and that are exempt from definition as meat food products by the commissioner under conditions the commissioner prescribes to ensure that the meat or other portions of the carcass contained in the products are not adulterated and that the products are not represented as meat food products.

18.__Misbranded.__"Misbranded" applied to a carcass, meat or a meat food product means that:

A.__Its labeling is false or misleading;

B.__It is offered for sale under the name of another food;

C.__It is an imitation of another food, unless its label bears, in type of uniform size and prominence, the word "imitation" and immediately after the word "imitation" the name of the food imitated;

D.__Its container is made, formed or filled so that it is misleading;

E.__Its package or container does not bear a label showing:

(1)__The name and place of business of the manufacturer, packer or distributor; and

(2)__An accurate statement of the quantity of the contents in terms of weight, measure or numerical count, except that under this subparagraph reasonable variations may be permitted and exemptions for small packages may be established by the commissioner by rule;

F.__A word, statement or other information required by this chapter to appear on the label or other labeling is not placed on the label prominently and in terms likely to be
