MAINE COMMUNITY PURCHASING ALLIANCE

§3401.__Definitions

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.

1.__Alliance.__"Alliance" means the Maine Community Purchasing Alliance established in section 3403.

2.__Alliance member.__"Alliance member" means a participating employer, an enrolled employee or an enrolled individual.__A dependent of a participating consumer covered under the participating consumer's health benefit plan is not an alliance member.

3.__Board.__"Board" means the alliance board of directors authorized pursuant to section 3403.

4.__Bureau. "Bureau" means the Bureau of Insurance.

5.__Carrier.__"Carrier" means an insurer, health maintenance organization or nonprofit hospital or medical service organization licensed to do business in this State.

6.__Enrolled employee. "Enrolled employee" means an employee or association member of a participating employer whose health care coverage is purchased through the alliance.

7.__Enrolled individual.__"Enrolled individual" means a person purchasing health care coverage through the alliance, without contribution from a participating employer.
