Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §4634 is enacted to read:

§4634.__Right to breast-feed

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a mother may breast-feed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be.

SUMMARY

This bill amends the Maine Human Rights Act to declare that a mother has the right to breast-feed her baby in any location, whether public or private, as long as she is otherwise authorized to be in that location. This bill is based on a similar New York law.
