CHAPTER 426-A

MAINE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY RECRUITMENT

§12311.__Definitions

As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.

1.__Authority.__"Authority" means the Finance Authority of Maine.

2.__Board.__"Board" means the Board of Examiners on Speech- language Pathology and Audiology.

3.__Chief executive officer.__"Chief executive officer" means the Chief Executive Officer of the Finance Authority of Maine.

4.__Maine resident.__"Maine resident" means a person who has been a resident of the State for a minimum of 2 years, for purposes other than education, at the time of the person's entry to a speech-language pathology program, as determined by rule of the authority.__In determining residency, the authority shall consider:

A.__Length of residence in the State for other than the purpose of gaining low tuition rates;

B.__Secondary school attended;

C.__Legal residence of parents;

D.__Place of voting registration, if registered to vote;

E.__Place where taxes are paid; and

F.__Other indicators established by the authority.

5.__Public school.__"Public school" means a school that is governed by a school board of a school administrative unit and funded primarily with public funds.

6.__Speech-language pathologist.__"Speech-language pathologist" means an individual who practices speech-language pathology and who by virtue of academic and practical training
