§1831.__Short title

 
This chapter may be known and cited as "the Uniform Parentage
Act."

 
§1832.__Definitions

 
As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise
indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.

 
1.__Acknowledged father.__"Acknowledged father" means a man
who has established a parent-child relationship under subchapter
3.

 
2.__Adjudicated parent.__"Adjudicated parent" means a person
who has been adjudicated by a court of competent jurisdiction to
be the parent of a child.

 
3.__Alleged father.__"Alleged father" means a man who alleges
himself to be, or is alleged to be, the genetic father or a
possible genetic father of a child, but whose paternity has not
been determined. "Alleged father" does not mean:

 
A.__A presumed parent;

 
B.__A man whose parental rights have been terminated or
declared not to exist; or

 
C.__A male donor.

 
4.__Assisted reproduction.__"Assisted reproduction" means a
method of causing pregnancy other than sexual intercourse.__
"Assisted reproduction" includes:

 
A.__Intrauterine insemination;

 
B.__Donation of eggs;

 
C.__Donation of embryos;

 
D.__In vitro fertilization and transfer of embryos; and

 
E.__Intracytoplasmic sperm injection.

 
5.__Child.__"Child" means an individual of any age whose
parentage may be determined under this chapter.

 
6.__Commence.__"Commence" means to file the initial pleading
seeking an adjudication of parentage in the District Court.
