| A-8.__"Emergency services for adults" means those immediate |
| crisis-oriented services provided to an adult with an acute |
| problem of disturbed thought, behavior, mood or social |
| relationships.__Services are oriented toward the |
| amelioration and stabilization of these acute emotional |
| disturbances to ensure the safety of an individual or |
| society and include all components of assessment, |
| evaluation, screening, intervention and disposition commonly |
| considered appropriate to the provision of emergency mental |
| health care.__To qualify as "emergency services for adults," |
| the emergency services must be provided by a mental health |
| worker provided pursuant to an approved individual treatment |
| service plan who receives regular, periodic clinical |
| supervision by a qualified mental health professional and |
| backup services must be available within one hour from the |
| time of contact.__"Emergency services for adults" includes |
| direct telephone contacts with the adult for up to 14 days |
| if at least one face-to-face contact is made with the adult |
| related to the emergency. |
