Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §6202, sub-§1-A is enacted to read:

1-A.__Interpretation.__The statewide assessment program results must be interpreted in a manner that takes into account the particular role within a community or region of specialized or regionalized programs or schools.__For these programs or schools, the results must be interpreted by assigning the student and the scores of the student to the school in the community where the student resides.__The commissioner shall adopt rules to implement this subsection.__Rules adopted pursuant to this subsection are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

SUMMARY

This bill requires a student's Maine Education Assessment scores in a specialized or regionalized program or school to be assigned to the community where the student resides. The bill requires the Commissioner of Education to adopt routine technical rules to implement the provisions of the bill.
