| §2005. Copyrights and fees |
|
| | Copyright or licensing restrictions may not be fixed by the | geographic information board or data custodians to the | information made available through the Maine Library of | Geographic Information.__The geographic information board may set | fees for electronic copies of library data that are no more than | 3 times the actual cost of reproduction.__Fee schedules must be | set annually and made readily available to requestors. |

| | Any state agency or semiautonomous state agency disagreeing | with an action or decision of the Chief Information Officer as it | affects that agency may appeal the decision in accordance with | the provisions of this section. |

| | 1.__Appeal.__A state agency may appeal the decision or action | of the Chief Information Officer to the commissioner. |

| | 2.__Appeal to Governor.__In the event that an agency is | aggrieved by the decision of the commissioner, the agency may | appeal to the Governor to alter the decision or action, and the | decision of the Governor is final. |

| | 3.__Written decisions.__In responding to a state agency, the | person or organization to whom the appeal has been made shall | provide the decision in writing.__If the decision fails to uphold | the state agency appeal, the decision must contain the specific | reasons for the decision. |
