| | Sec. YY-1. PL 2001, c. 559, Pt. D, §21 is amended to read: |

| | *Sec. D-21. Lease purchase authorization. Pursuant to the Maine Revised | Statutes, Title 5, section 1587, the Department of Administrative | and Financial Services on behalf of the Department of Education | may enter into financing arrangements in fiscal years 2001-02 and | 2002-03 for the acquisition of laptop computer systems to support | the operations of the Maine Learning Technology Program. The | financing agreements may not exceed 4-1/2 years in duration and | $22,323,279.08 $25,509,377.81 in principal costs. The interest | rate may not exceed 4.5% and the total interest costs may not | exceed $2,546,720.92 $2,856,720.02. The annual principal and | interest costs must be paid from the appropriate line category | allocations in the Department of Education. |
