Sec. GGG-1. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations
and allocations are made.

 
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, DEPARTMENT OF (FORMERLY DHS)

 
Purchased Social Services 0228

 
Initiative: Appropriates funds for grants to build new hospices
and to establish new hospice services. These funds must be
awarded through a competitive bidding process, the funds being
awarded equally among the following 2 areas of the State:
Lewiston and Auburn; and Scarborough and South Portland.
Grantees must have plans submitted to the Department of Health
and Human Services by July 1, 2006 to qualify for these grants.

PART HHH

 
Sec. HHH-1. MaineCare hospital settlements. Funds appropriated and
allocated under section 4 of this Part for fiscal year 2005-06
are to make hospital settlement payments current through hospital
2003 fiscal years. Funds appropriated and allocated under
section 4 of this Part for fiscal year 2006-07 are to make
settlements current for hospital fiscal years ending on or before
June 30, 2004 and, to the extent funding permits, for hospital
fiscal years ending on
or before September 30, 2004. All hospital settlements made
under this Part must be made before October 15, 2006.
