§1926. Nitrous oxide system

1.
Definitions.
As used in this section, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.
A.
"Fill station" means a place that refills nitrous oxide bottles.

B.
"Nitrous oxide system" means a device installed in a motor vehicle that allows nitrous oxide to combine with gasoline for the purpose of increasing engine power.

2.
Use prohibited.
Except as provided in subsection 3, a person may not operate a motor vehicle that is equipped with a nitrous oxide system on a public way.

3.
Exceptions.
A person may operate a motor vehicle equipped with a nitrous oxide system on a public way if:
A.
All canisters of nitrous oxide have been removed from the vehicle; or

B.
The motor vehicle is en route to or from a track where the motor vehicle is used for racing, a car show, an off-highway competition or event or a fill station and:

The nitrous oxide system is made inoperative by disconnecting the line feeding nitrous oxide to the engine; or
(2)
All containers of nitrous oxide have been removed from the motor vehicle.
