§3813

§3812. Licensing board; granting and revocation of licenses

1.  Licensing board.  The municipal officers of every municipality shall serve as the licensing board for the issuance of innkeepers' and tavernkeepers' licenses.

2.  Meetings.  The licensing board shall meet as provided in this subsection.  
A. They shall meet annually during the month of May on a date and at a time and place in the municipality that they determine. At least 7 days before the meeting, they must post notices stating the purpose of the meeting in at least 2 public places in the municipality.   [PL 1987, c. 737, Pt. 3.  Issuance and revocation of licenses.  At any meeting held under subsection 2, the licensing board may do the following.  
A. The board may license as many persons of good moral character to be innkeepers or tavernkeepers in the municipality as it considers necessary.  
(1) The license must specify the building in which the business will be conducted.  
(2) The board may issue the license under any restrictions and regulations that it considers necessary.   [PL 1997, c. 446, §3 (AMD).]

4.  License expiration.  All licenses granted under this section expire one year after issuance.
