Sec. L-1. Commissioner of Professional and Financial Regulation to review licensing boards. The Commissioner of Professional and Financial Regulation shall review the missions and services provided by the individual licensing boards administered by the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, including the affiliated boards, to assess:
1. The continuing need for each licensing board; and
2. Administrative efficiencies that can be accomplished by combining one or more boards.
The commissioner shall consult with and seek input from the individual licensing boards during the review process.
Sec. L-2. Recommendations. The Commissioner of Professional and Financial Regulation shall make recommendations to the Joint Standing Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs and the Joint Standing Committee on Business and Economic Development by December 31, 1999 for statutory changes, reorganization or restructuring and funding as necessary to carry out these recommendations.
