| | 27.__Torchiere lighting fixture.__"Torchiere lighting fixture" | means a portable electric lighting fixture with a reflective bowl | that directs light upward onto a ceiling so as to produce | indirect illumination on the surfaces below.__A torchiere | lighting fixture may include downward-directed lamps in addition | to the upward, indirect illumination. |

| | 28.__Traffic signal module.__"Traffic signal module" means a | standard 8-inch or 12-inch traffic signal indicator consisting of | a light source, a lens and all other parts necessary for | operation. |

| | 29.__Transformer.__"Transformer" means a device consisting of | 2 or more coils of insulated wire and that is designed to | transfer alternating current by electromagnetic induction from | one coil to another to change the original voltage or current | value.__"Transformer" does not include either: |
|
| A.__Transformers with multiple voltage taps, with the | highest voltage tap equaling at least 20 percent more than | the lowest voltage tap; or |
|
| B.__Transformers that are designed to be used in a special- | purpose application and are unlikely to be used in general- | purpose applications, such as those commonly known as drive | transformers, rectifier transformers, auto-transformers, | uninterruptible power system transformers, impedance | transformers, regulating transformers, sealed and | nonventilating transformers, machine tool transformers, | welding transformers, grounding transformers or testing | transformers. |

| | 30.__Unit heater.__"Unit heater" means a self-contained, | vented fan-type commercial space heater that uses natural gas or | propane and that is designed to be installed without ducts within | a heated space, except that "unit heater" does not include any | products covered by federal standards established pursuant to 42 | United States Code, Section 6291 and subsequent sections or any | product that is a direct-vent, forced-flue heater with a sealed | combustion burner. |

| | 1.__Application.__Except as provided in subsection 2, the | provisions of this chapter apply to the testing, certification | and enforcement of energy efficiency standards for the following | types of new products that are sold, offered for sale or | installed in the State and are referred to in this chapter as | "covered products": |
