Mechanic's Liens
What is Maine's Law on Mechanic's Liens
A mechanic’s lien is “a statutory lien that secures payment for labor or materials supplied in improving, repairing, or maintaining real or personal property, such as a building, an automobile, or the like.” (Black's Law Dictionary, 12th ed., 2024). Although Maine statutes don’t appear to use this term, the laws governing this type of lien can be found in 10 MRS §§3251-3269.
