- Speaker(s): Misty Connors, Solutions Consultant, LexisNexis Legal & Professional
- Description: Artificial Intelligence is one of the most powerful technologies of our time, and it has emerged into our legal system. But what exactly IS artificial intelligence? Jeff Pfeifer, the VP of Product Management at LexisNexis, depicted artificial intelligence as “a broad term that describes a group of technologies designed to perform tasks that once required human intelligence, interaction, or decision-making.” Many lawyers are interested in artificial intelligence yet are unaware and uneasy of exactly how artificial intelligence might impact their legal tasks. In this course you will become knowledgeable about artificial intelligence, its key terms and how it is impacting the legal field. This presentation will shed light on the existing regulatory landscape surrounding AI in the United States. This segment will emphasize the role played by different governmental bodies and agencies involved in AI regulation. Attendees will gain insights into the current laws, policies, and guidelines applicable to AI. Attendees will be presented with recent and proposed AI regulations in the US, including legislative efforts and policy frameworks.
